James Mason

Graduate Sports Therapist (BSc)

I’m James, a Sports Therapist based in Swindon. I graduated with a First Class degree in Sports Therapy in 2023 and have been working in clinical and pitch-side environments ever since. I’m currently completing a Master’s degree in Sports & Exercise Medicine, and I’m a member of the Society of Sports Therapists.

I’ve been doing sports massage since 2019, so by the time I graduated, I already had years of hands on experience behind me. Since then, I’ve worked at Dyer Street Clinic in Cirencester, completed a placement year with Swindon Town Football Club first team, spent two seasons with their academy and worked with the University of Worcester men’s basketball first team. Restore & Revive Sports Therapy is my own mobile practice, which I’ve been running since 2023.

Injury has played a bigger part in my journey than I’d have liked, whilst participating in football, badminton, taekwondo and powerlifting. I’ve dealt with a rectus femoris strain, thoracic outlet syndrome, a few minor shoulder injuries and a meniscus tear in my left knee. The last of which I rehabbed myself during my undergraduate degree. Going through the process while studying gave me a different perspective on injury. It's frustrating, it takes longer than you want it to, and the rehab and management need to be planned in a way to optimise recovery.

That’s what I try to bring to every client - treatment and rehabilitation that’s actually built around the person in front of me, not a protocol off the shelf.

I set up Restore & Revive Sports Therapy to remove the barriers that keep people from getting the help they need. No waiting lists, no inconvenient clinic hours, no travelling across town after a long day. I come to you, assess properly, treat effectively and make sure you leave with a clear plan.
